Bill de Blasio
Bill de Blasio is an American politician who served as the 109th mayor of New York City from 2014 to 2021. As mayor, de Blasio led NYC through the Covid-19 pandemic, turning what was once a global epicenter into one of the safest cities During his term, de Blasio also implemented policies such as securing a $15 minimum wage for all workers as well as ensuring that early childhood education became a universal right in all five boroughs. In response to the growing climate crisis, de Blasio and the NYC Council passed the Climate Mobilization Act (or the NYC Green New Deal) to make NYC net-carbon-neutral by 2050, as well as groundbreaking legislation to reduce building emissions and to end fossil fuel use in new buildings.
Viral Acharya
Professor Viral Acharya was a Former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India where he was in charge of monetary policy, financial markets, financial stability and research as well as an academic Advisor to the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and New York. Currently, Acharya is a Professor of Economics at the Stern School of Business. His primary research interest is in the theoretical analysis of systematic risk. Acharya is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research has published articles in the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance and more; his articles have won several best paper prizes at journals and conferences.


Stephen Orlins
President of the National Committee on U.S. - China Relations since 2005. Prior to that, he was the managing director of Carlyle Asia and the chairman of the board of Taiwan Broadband Communications, one of Taiwan’s largest cable television and high speed internet providers. Mr. Orlins was also a senior advisor to AEA Investors Inc., a New York based leveraged buyout firm and was with the investment banking firm of Lehman Brothers from 1985 to 1991.
Michael Posner
Mr. Posner is the Director of the Center for Business and Human Rights at the Stern, the first-ever human rights center at a business school. Prior to joining NYU, Posner served in the Obama Administration from 2009-2013 as Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. He has also represented the U.S. Government to foreign officials and representatives of civil society in countries of strategic importance to the United States, including China, Russia, Egypt, Burma, Bahrain, Nigeria, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, among many others.
